Ateneo Center For International Law (ACIEL)

In November 2007, the Ateneo Center for International Economic Law (ACIEL) was formally established as a unit in the Law School with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement with the Ateneo Center for Economic Research and Development (ACERD), represented by its Director, Dr. Cielito F. Habito. ACIEL was established to promote the thoughful and scholarly attention to a broad range of subjects that concern the relation of the Law to crossborder economic activities, promote the study of International Economic Law (IEL) through research and publications, and become the vehicle by which the Law faculty and the Faculty from the Department of Economics can cooperate and collaborate in the study, research and promotion of the growth of IEL.

ACIEL covers the following activities in IEL: research projects, publications, panel discussions and public speaker events, and teaching offerings (IEL courses) and establishing useful linkages with government agencies, academic and research institutes, international organizations, and other relevant institutions.
